Overview

Gastronomies Muscle Injury (GMI) is a type of pathology caused by a stretching or compression of the sciatic nerve which runs through the lower back and the buttocks and down the legs. GMI is characterized by a severe and sudden pain, loss of mobility in the lower back and legs, numbness and tingling in one or both legs, and sometimes difficulty in urinating. GMI is a common problem for athletes and adults, particularly those who lead an active and physically demanding life. GMI can be managed with physical therapy, strengthening exercises, and rest. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to improve long-term outcomes and reduce the risk of recurrent episodes.
