Instructions for Authors
How to prepare a manuscript for this journal: what to include, how to report it, and what must accompany it at submission.
Preparing to these requirements shortens screening and gives reviewers what they need.

Structure
How a manuscript is assembled
The journal accepts four article types. Each is read against the same therapeutic-science remit: the type describes the form of the work, not its fit.
- Research Article
- Original work reporting the study and its findings in full.
- Review Article
- A synthesis of published work. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are review designs within this type.
- Methods Article
- A method, model or technique developed for therapeutic development or evaluation, reported so that it can be applied.
- Case Report
- A documented course of care reported in enough detail to inform practice or further study.
A Research Article follows the conventional order: title page, abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, declarations, references, then figures and tables with their legends.
A Review Article, Methods Article or Case Report follows the order its form requires, with the same declarations and reference conventions.
- Title page. Title, every author with affiliation, the corresponding author’s contact address, and any funding.
- Abstract. A single abstract summarizing purpose, methods, results and conclusion. Structured headings are welcome where the work supports them.
- Keywords. Subject terms a reader would search for.
- Declarations. Conflicts of interest, funding, ethics approval, consent and, for empirical research, a data-availability statement.

Report the study to the guideline that fits its design, and submit the completed checklist with the manuscript.

Integrity
What must accompany the manuscript
- Ethics and consent. Studies involving people require ethics-committee approval and informed consent; animal studies require the corresponding institutional approval. Name the approving body and the reference.
- Trial registration. Interventional clinical trials must be registered in an accepted public trial registry at or before the first participant provides consent for enrollment. The registry name, registration number, and registration date must be reported in the manuscript.
- Data availability. Every empirical research manuscript must include a data-availability statement.
- Permissions. Material reproduced from another source needs written permission from the rights holder before submission.
- AI use. Disclose any use of generative AI in producing the manuscript, saying where and how it was used. AI systems are not authors.

Presentation
Figures, tables and statistics
- Figures. Supply each figure as a separate file at a resolution that stays sharp at print size, with a legend that makes the figure readable on its own.
- Tables. Editable text, one table per file or clearly separated, with units stated in the header.
- Statistics. State the test, the software, the significance threshold and the measure of variation. Report effect sizes with their confidence intervals, not significance alone.
- Supplementary files. Material that supports but does not belong in the article, each with a short caption.

References
Reference style
Number references in order of first appearance and list them in that order. Give every author where the list is short, and enough detail for a reader to find the source.
- Journal article. Authors. Title. Journal. Year; volume(issue): pages. DOI if registered.
- Book. Authors or editors. Title. Edition. Place: Publisher; year.
- Chapter. Authors. Chapter title. In: editors. Book title. Place: Publisher; year: pages.
- Web page. Author or organization. Title. URL, with the date accessed.
- Dataset. Creators. Title. Repository; year. Accession or DOI.
- Preprint. Authors. Title. Preprint server; year. DOI or URL, marked as a preprint.
- Trial registration. Registry name, registration number and date.

Review
Preparing for double-blind review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
For double-blind review, remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding details, institution names, and other identifying information from the reviewer manuscript. Provide identifying information separately in the title-page file or submission form.

Checklist
Before you submit
- The therapeutic-science question is central to the work.
- The manuscript follows the order for its form, with legends and units in place.
- The reporting checklist for the design is completed and attached.
- Ethics approval, consent and trial registration are stated where they apply.
- The data-availability statement is present for empirical research.
- Conflicts of interest, funding and any AI use are declared.
- Permissions are held for reproduced material.
- If double-blind review is requested, the reviewer manuscript is anonymized.
