Energy healing is a category of complementary and alternative practice based on the premise that an energy field associated with the body can be influenced to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Practices grouped under this term, such as Reiki, therapeutic touch, and various biofield modalities, hold that imbalances or disturbances in this purported energy can be addressed by a practitioner to encourage the body's own healing processes.
