Overview

Oxygen Evolution Assay (OEA) is a type of biochemistry assay used to measure and monitor the rates of photosynthesis in plants and algae. It is done by using a modified Clark-type electrode to measure the electrical current when photosynthesis takes place. The electrical current is proportional to the amount of oxygen released. This helps to detect changes in the rates of photosynthesis and allows for further investigation into the underlying mechanism of the process. OEA enables scientists to better understand photosynthesis, which is an essential process for life on Earth, and to determine the effect of various environmental conditions on this process.
