Insulin Signaling

Insulin signaling is a process used by the human body to regulate metabolism, allowing cells to respond to messages from the hormone insulin. Insulin targets the cells of the body, communicating the need to take in glucose and convert it into energy, store it as fat, or use it for other needs. Insulin signaling is an essential part of our body's homeostatic control of glucose, allowing us to maintain healthy blood glucose levels and regulating metabolism. Deficiencies in insulin signaling can lead to type II diabetes, obesity, and other medical conditions. A healthy diet and lifestyle are key to ensuring proper insulin signaling.
