Biography
Edith Kuri Pineda is a Profesora at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Coyoacán, Mexico, where her research focuses on collective action, social movements, and the social construction of memory and space. She earned her degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Her scholarly work examines the relationship between space and society, collective identity, and the cultural dimensions of protest movements, with particular attention to emblematic cases such as the San Salvador Atenco movement and the memorialization of Mexico's 1968 student movement. Her most-cited publication, "Emociones y acción colectiva: la Vocacional 7 durante el 68 mexicano" (2023), reflects her sustained engagement with the emotional and experiential dimensions of collective mobilization in Mexican history.
