Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively for scientific validity and informatics merit
- Complete reviews within agreed-upon timeframe (typically 14-21 days)
- Declare any conflicts of interest before accepting assignments
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all manuscript contents
- Provide constructive, specific, and respectful feedback
Review Criteria
When evaluating an informatics manuscript, consider:
- Originality and significance of the research question
- Appropriateness of study design and methodology
- Quality and interpretation of data analyses
- Reproducibility (code/data availability)
- Clarity and logical flow of presentation
Ethical Conduct
Reviewers must adhere to COPE guidelines. Do not use ideas or data from manuscripts under review for personal benefit.
