What is registered, where the journal’s metadata reaches, and how the record is kept, with each service named for the role it plays.
Registration, metadata distribution, discovery and selective indexing are four distinct functions, and this page treats each of them separately. Every entry below is evidenced from an authoritative record.

Registration

These make the journal and its articles citable and permanently resolvable.
ISSN
The journal is registered under ISSN 3070-3379.
DOI registration (Crossref)
The journal holds a Crossref journal record under Open Access Pub, and articles are assigned DOIs for deposit. DOI registration establishes a persistent identifier and citation link; selection for an index is a separate editorial assessment, made by each service against its own criteria.
ORCID
Author and editor ORCID iDs are displayed where they have been supplied and verified, connecting a person to their work across systems.
Distribution
Metadata and discovery
Metadata deposited for an article travels to services that help readers find it. Inclusion in a discovery service reflects metadata coverage rather than editorial evaluation.
OpenAlex
The journal has an OpenAlex source record, built from openly available metadata, through which deposited articles become discoverable.
Crossref metadata
Deposited metadata — titles, authors, affiliations, references and license terms — is openly available to any service that consumes the Crossref feed.
The journal platform
Every article is freely readable on the journal site with structured citation metadata, full text and a downloadable PDF and XML.
Preservation
Keeping the record
Long-term availability is a separate commitment from discovery, and is handled by an independent archive.
This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
PubMed Central
Funder deposit
One deposit route applies to a specific class of manuscript and is worth stating precisely.
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS).
An individual manuscript deposit places that article in PubMed Central. It is a funder compliance route for the article concerned, and is separate from journal-level indexing.

Checking where an article appears
Metadata deposits and platform sitemaps are what discovery services read. If an article is not appearing where you expect it, send the article link and publication date to the editorial office at [email protected] and the deposit record will be checked.
Accurate titles, complete affiliations, ORCID iDs and correctly formatted references in the submitted manuscript are what make an article findable later.
