Manuscript preparation
Use these requirements to prepare a complete, reviewable chemistry manuscript and its supporting files before choosing one approved submission route.
Journal of New Developments in Chemistry considers original research, reviews, short communications and technical notes that make a clear, supported advance in chemical knowledge, methods, materials, measurement or molecular-level explanation. In every case, chemistry must be the central scholarly contribution. This includes fundamental and applied chemistry, medicinal chemistry and chemical biology. The preparation requirements below cover four formats; for a format not covered here or a justified exception to the limits, discuss suitability with the editorial office before preparing the submission.

Requirements should be adapted to the study design while preserving a clear account of the question, methods, evidence and conclusions.
Concise title; all author names and affiliations; corresponding-author email; article type; word count; funding and competing interests. Original Research manuscripts use 5–8 keywords; for other article types, select concise terms that describe the work.
Use the article-type abstract format above. Original research normally includes Introduction, Experimental or Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions and Data Availability.
Include authorship contributions, acknowledgments, funding, competing interests, data availability, ethics approval and consent where relevant.
Number references in order of citation, use a consistent ACS-style format and include DOI links where available.
Methods and characterization should allow a qualified reader to evaluate identity, purity, reproducibility and the relationship between evidence and conclusions.
Submit publication-quality material without embedding essential evidence only in inaccessible formats.
Supply separate TIFF, EPS or high-resolution PNG files at 300 dpi or higher. Label axes and units, distinguish data series accessibly and show reaction conditions, reagents, yields and stereochemistry.
Use editable tables with descriptive headings and explanatory footnotes. Do not submit tables as images or repeat the same results in both a table and figure.
Provide spectra, chromatograms, crystallographic files, extended methods, optimization data, computational coordinates, code and supplementary tables as separate clearly named files where applicable.
Authors must obtain permission for reused copyrighted material and identify the permission or applicable license in the caption.

Policy declarations must be complete at submission and remain consistent with the manuscript and supporting files.
Peer review: Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
For double-blind review, remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding details, institution names, and other identifying information from the reviewer manuscript. Provide identifying information separately in the title-page file or submission form.
This requirement applies only to an in-scope chemistry study with an interventional human component that constitutes a clinical trial. It does not broaden JNDC's scope to purely clinical research or apply automatically to laboratory studies using human samples.
Interventional clinical trials must be registered in an accepted public trial registry at or before the first participant provides consent for enrollment. The registry name, registration number, and registration date must be reported in the manuscript.
Use the reporting guideline appropriate to the work, including CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, STARD or ARRIVE where applicable. Report statistical methods, assumptions, uncertainty, replication and exclusions clearly.
AI tools cannot meet authorship criteria. Authors remain accountable for all submitted content and should disclose material use of AI-assisted tools in preparing text, code, images or analyses in accordance with the journal's current policy.
