Before you send
Five things worth checking
A manuscript that arrives complete moves through screening without avoidable delay.
The manuscript is in scope; the ethical declarations are included; a data-availability statement is present for empirical work; figures and tables are numbered and captioned; and the corresponding author’s contact details are current.
What happens next
Three stages, in order.

Screening
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.

Review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.

Decision
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, and roles.
