Biography:

  • Cheng-Hong Yang received his B.S. degree in computer engineering from Tamkang University in Taiwan, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from North Dakota State University in 1990 and 1992, respectively.
  • From August 1992, he was associate professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Kaohsuing, Taiwan.
  • From August 2000 to July 2003, he was a full professor and chairman of the Electronic Engineering Department at National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Taiwan.
  • From August 2003 to October 2007, he served as a director of the Computer Center at the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
  • From November 2007 to August 2008, he served as a director of the Computer Center at Ministry of Education in Taiwan.
  • Currently, he is a full professor at the Department of Network Systems and president of Toko University, Chiayi, Taiwan.
  • He is currently a full professor at the Department of the Electronic Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
  • He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
  • He is listed in the International Who?Who of Professionals, Marquis Who?Who in America, and Marquis Who?Who in the World.
  • He was a visiting scholar at the institute of information science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, in 2008.
  • He has published more than 400 papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings and book chapters.
  • Dr. Yang also acted as Program Chair, Program Co-Chair, or PC member for various international and domestic conferences.
  • His main areas of research are bioinformatics, evolutionary computation, artificial intelligence, signal processing, and assistive tool implementation.
