Biography
Angelo Cataldo, PhD, serves as Docente at the Ministero dell'istruzione in Roma, Italy, having completed his doctoral education at the Università degli Studi di Palermo. His research focuses on cardiovascular physiology, autonomic function, and performance assessment in athletes across various sports and populations. His work examines heart rate variability, sympatho-vagal balance, and metabolic parameters as markers of training status and predictors of athletic performance in endurance athletes, rowers, and team sport players, as well as clinical applications in obese and diabetic populations. His most-cited publication, "Resting sympatho-vagal balance is related to 10 km running performance in master endurance athletes" (2018), exemplifies his contribution to understanding the relationship between autonomic regulation and endurance performance.
