International Physiology Journal

Aims and Scope

International Physiology Journal (IPJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research that spans the entire spectrum of physiology - from cellular and molecular mechanisms to whole-organ and systemic function. IPJ welcomes submissions in various article formats, including original research, comprehensive reviews, literature reviews, conference proceedings, case reports, short communications, theses, letters, and editorials.

Scope & Focus Areas: Our scope includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cellular and Molecular Physiology: Investigations into the structure and function of cells and subcellular components. Elucidation of molecular mechanisms that underlie physiological processes
  • Systems Physiology: Studies examining the integrated function of organs and organ systems. Research exploring interactions between multiple physiological systems in health and disease
  • Comparative Physiology: Research using a comparative approach to understand physiological adaptations across different species and environments
  • Physiological Genomics: Studies employing genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic techniques to reveal the regulation of physiological functions. Insights into gene expression and regulation in physiological contexts
  • Environmental Physiology: Investigations on how environmental factors-such as temperature, humidity, and altitude-influence physiological responses
  • Exercise Physiology: Research on the effects of physical activity and exercise on cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems. Studies on metabolic adaptations to exercise and physical stress
  • Physiology of Aging: Studies exploring age-related physiological changes and their impact on health and disease. Research aimed at understanding mechanisms of aging and strategies for healthy longevity

IPJ welcomes submissions that incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies to advance our understanding of physiological processes and clinical applications. Below is the list of topics this journal covers.
