The researchers who assess submissions to the Journal of Experimental and Clinical Toxicology, with the affiliations and interests recorded for each of them.
Their expertise spans mechanistic and analytical research, environmental and organ-specific toxicology, and the clinical care of people who have been exposed.
What the board does
Assessment, and responsibility for it
Editors read submissions against the journal’s remit and the evidence a manuscript presents, select reviewers whose expertise matches the claims being made, and take the decision that follows. Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Decisions remain independent of fees, membership, editorial roles and paid services. An editor with a competing interest in a submission takes no part in its assessment, and an editor’s own manuscript is handled independently.
Review
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
