Measuring Quality Change in the Market for Anti-Ulcer Drugs

This study builds a quality-adjusted price index for anti-ulcer drugs from the measured attributes of the drugs themselves rather than from list price alone. It sets out why an unadjusted price index can mislead in a market whose products are multidimensional and change quickly. It sits within the journal’s remit as health-economics research on the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.

The journal publishes work across the digestive system and across the ways it is studied. These two sit at different ends of that range — one on what an imaging method contributes to assessing a tumor, one on how services for viral liver disease were organized.

Demonstration of the Capabilities of Transabdominal Ultrasonography in Assessment of Structures and Functional Disorders of Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer of Diverse Localization

Sixty-one surgically managed patients were imaged in B-mode and color Doppler alongside radiography, virtual gastroscopy and multidetector computed tomography, with histopathology available for comparison. The study sets out what a widely available imaging method contributes to the assessment of a gastric tumor before treatment.

Successful Cascade of Care and Cure HCV in 5382 Drugs Users: How Increase HCV Treatment by Outreach Care, Since Screening to Treatment

A mobile hepatitis team working with 42 medical and social partners delivered screening, liver-stiffness measurement, specialist consultation and treatment outside the hospital between July 2013 and December 2018. The record is a historical account of how services for viral liver disease were arranged in one French region.

Editorial responsibility rests with an Editor-in-Chief and a subject editorial board drawn from gastroenterology, hepatology, diagnostic radiology, coloproctology and surgery.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Peer review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
