Board membership reflects each editor’s verified scholarly record. Some members do not have a public ORCID iD on record; where an iD could not be independently confirmed it is omitted rather than guessed. Editors recuse themselves from any manuscript in which they have a conflict of interest.

Governance & accountability

How the board upholds scientific quality

The editorial board is responsible for the scholarly integrity of everything JCGB publishes. Editorial decisions rest on scientific merit and are independent of fees, membership, or any paid service.

What the board does

  • Peer-review oversight. Editors assess each submission for fit and rigour and assign qualified reviewers. Review is single-blind (double-blind on request).
  • Scope stewardship. The board keeps JCGB focused on cancer genetics, genomics, molecular oncology, and biomarker research.
  • Research integrity. Concerns about misconduct, data, or ethics are handled in line with COPE guidance, including corrections and retractions where warranted.
  • Confidentiality. Submissions and reviewer identities are treated as confidential throughout the process.

Independence & conflicts of interest

Editors and reviewers declare competing interests and recuse themselves from handling their own submissions or any work where a conflict exists; those manuscripts are managed independently. Payment of an article processing charge, membership, or use of any optional service confers no advantage in review or the likelihood of acceptance.

The board, JCGB & Open Access Pub

The editorial board provides scholarly governance and makes editorial decisions. Open Access Pub, the publisher, provides production, hosting, Crossref DOIs, and preservation infrastructure — it does not make acceptance decisions.

Work with the board

Submit your research — or help review it.

Researchers in cancer genetics and biomarkers who would like to be considered for a reviewer or editorial role are welcome to write to the editorial office with a CV and areas of expertise.
